ARTIST NOTES: Gabriel is the Angel of Communication. Painted in acrylic on canvas, I used a photograph of my painting, and added a background of galaxies, to create a canvas print. I felt inspired to use a male figure (in the book of Daniel Gabriel is said to 'look like a man'.) Gabriel is looking down on our beautiful planet, holding a white lily, asking for communication so as to avoid the terrible conflicts that threaten it. The model is an artist friend I have known for many years, Paul D. Robertson. I only had a photo (black and white) of him down to the waist, and worked out the proportions of the rest with the help of Michelangelo and Leonardo. It was quite challenging but I think it worked.
