ARTIST NOTES: A limited edition handcut, handcoloured linocut of one of our winter wattles, I drew on a walk in East Camberwell.
I am endeavouring to capture the essence of the plant not dwell on fine details, which I can't cut anyway.
After handcutting the lino I've rolled on the black ink, laid the paper onto it and handprinted the image by rubbing my favourite ladle on the back of the paper in the Japanese manner.
I've called it "gossamer" because of the fairy floss texture of the blooms.
This is number one of an edition limited to twelve (8/12) of the same image.
