'Sovereign Hill' is a watercolour painting from a reference photo taken on a visit to Sovereign Hill, in Ballarat which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Victoria. Sovereign Hill is an open air museum which brings to life the excitement of Australia’s great 1850s gold rushes. The grand draught horses are pulling a carriage of people down the colonial street.

                                       CHRISTINE DAVIS ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Christine began to pursue her passion for creating art by participating in mixed media and drawing classes at the Victorian Artist Society in Melbourne.  During this time, she created many watercolor paintings and several drawings which were shown in exhibitions.   She later enrolled for the diploma of Visual Arts at Victoria University where she was introduced to painting in oils and printmaking.  Christine and her family moved to Adelaide in 2020 where she transferred her art study to the Adelaide College of the Arts and  completed the diploma of Visual Arts. She is now participating in  art classes at Splashout Studios and occasional workshops at the Adelaide Art Society to continue to extend her skills. Christine is developing her own unique style of fine art using oils, watercolour, and pencils and recently purchased a printing press so is adding prints to her work.  She now exhibits her artworks in various exhibitions in  Adelaide.   Christine's art is her way of revealing the beauty around us. ‘Your artwork has made me think about landscapes differently’ quote from the viewer.
